For sale a stunning fully restored example of Ford's famous 1970 XW Falcon GT in Brambles Red with Black trim. All matching numbers and featuring the FMX automatic gearbox. Located in our Sydney Showroom for your inspection.

The XW GT has Bill Bourke written all over it. Lurking under his charismatic personality and slick backed hair beat the high octane heart of a hot rodder. Bourke transformed the conservative and somewhat unreliable Falcons of the early to mid 1960s into the reliable race winning Falcons of the late 60s and 1970s.

And nothing spelled Bill Bourke more than the XW GT Falcon. With it's bright colours, bold Super Roo stripping, big 351 Cleveland V8 horsepower, bullet proof running gear and huge options list, Bourke was onto a winner!

2,287 XW GTs were sold by Ford. Nearly 3,000 if you add in the GTHOs. And Brambles Red has got to be the pick of the GT colours. With those bonnet black outs, black side stripping, chrome chunky metal badges, functional bonnet air intake and bonnet locking pins all adding to the masculine image of this high performance sports sedan.

Sold originally in May 1970 through Peter Warren Ford, Liverpool, NSW. According to the ACCHS Report, this stunning XW GT is one of only 109 XW GT Falcons with the same paint and trim combination and one of only 11 with the exact same build specification.

This drop dead gorgeous example of the XW GT Falcon was nut and bolt ground up restored by Luxury Auto Body of Clifton Hill, Victoria in 2019. The GT features all original running gear including the matching numbers D block 351 Cleveland 4V engine, T-Bar FMX automatic gearbox and 9" LSD. And with only 587 miles driven since the restoration, this is like driving a brand new XW GT.

Mechanically, the GT features the fully rebuilt factory matching numbers 351 4V Cleveland with all the day one date matching components including the crank, rods, pistons, original carby, water pump, manifolds, sump etc. And receipts are supplied for all the restoration work. The compliance plate has never been removed and the radiator support, shock tower and engine numbers are all day one. This is a very solid XW GT that features all original panels and an absolutely stunning paint job.

The interior is mostly original with a retrim to the seats and new carpets have been fitted. The rest of the trim, door cards, dash, instrumentation, steering wheel, crash pad, hood lining are all original. Even the clock is still working.

The GT features all its original glass with the exception of the windscreen and features the original dealer sticker on the rear window. The undercarriage is in mint condition with factory style overspray, new old stock shock absorbers and factory correct upper and lower ball joints and tie rods in mint condition.

Open the boot and there is a new rubber boot matt, 5 slot spare and factory tools. The GT is riding on genuine 5 slot rims and new red walled Aquatread Sport ER70H14 tyres. The spare sports the original Aquajet tyre with the original sticker fitted.

A very well known and authenticated XW GT, it has won a number of awards including Best restored XW/XY and Best Paint at the Geelong All Ford Day.
