Australian Muscle Car Sales is proud to present this exceptionally rare and highly original 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT, finished in Reef Green with Black vinyl trim. Showing just 79,338 miles from new, the car remains in remarkable unrestored, well-maintained condition.

Being one of the earliest “Big Tag” XW GTs built in January 1970, this example is particularly significant and highly desirable among collectors. It represents a unique transition point in production, as one of the final cars fitted with the 4V Windsor engine while also being among the first to feature the larger, square compliance plate, noting these particular GT's in Janurary, 1970 have the compliance plates fitted Sideways. This combination makes it a rare and important piece of XW GT history.

A genuine matching numbers example that has been carefully preserved over its impressive 56-year lifetime. Delivered new in March 1970 through Brian Wood Ford in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, the car retains its original 351 4V Windsor engine, 4-speed Top Loader gearbox and factory 9-inch differential. All major components are matching numbers and have never been removed from the vehicle. The compliance plate remains untouched, and all factory stampings on the radiator support, shock tower and engine are exactly as they left the factory, further confirming its authenticity.

Accompanying the car is an outstanding history file, including original log books, original purchase receipts, extensive servicing documentation and a detailed driver’s log maintained throughout its first long-term ownership, providing rare and fully traceable provenance. The car remains incredibly original throughout, with all factory panels intact and no rust repairs evident.

The exterior shows only minor paint touch-ups, with most of its original paint still intact. It now presents with a light, honest patina that complements its unrestored maintained status. The interior is equally impressive and largely untouched, with the original  seat trims, door cards, dash fascia including gauges, steering wheel and hood lining all beautifully preserved.

The XW GT Falcon marked a bold step forward in Australian performance motoring, combining vibrant colours, aggressive styling and serious V8 performance. This example proudly displays all the iconic GT features, including the black bonnet blackout with locking pins, gold Super Roo striping, bonnet air intake and correct chrome badging. The GT is still riding on Genuine 12 Slots Rims with 205/70R14 red walled tyres.

The boot presents well, featuring the rubber mat, factory jack and tools, along with a matching spare wheel.

With only 2,287 XW GT Falcons produced, this is a rare opportunity to secure a highly collectible, investment-grade Australian muscle car that stands as a true survivor. With its matching numbers driveline, exceptional documentation and largely untouched condition, this XW GT represents one of the best unrestored Falcon GTs available today.

Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
