You could now option your Mustang with anything from a fuel efficient 200 and 250 Cui 6 cylinder, a small block 302 or 351ci V8 or perhaps the Big Block 390, 428 or 429ci V8s.

The Mach 1 was a huge success for Ford and offered customers enhancements in both the appearance and performance departments.  The Mach 1 got a non-functional hood scoop that had turn-signal indicator lights on the back visible to the driver.  The interior featured simulated teak wood grain details, full sound-deadening material, and high-back sport bucket seats. And suspension was upgraded to varying degrees dependent upon powertrain choices. The Mach 1 also got bonnet pin tiedowns, steel wheels with white lettered Goodyear Polyglas tyres and other features.

FOR SALE is a stunning example of the 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. According to the Marti Report, this car was originally built in October 1969 and retailed via a Los Angeles based dealership. The Mach 1 was ordered in Medium Red paint with White Corinthian high backed bucket seats with the optional M Code 351 4V Windsor V8 engine, FMX automatic gearbox, 9" traction lock differential, power disc front brakes, Power Steering, Air-conditioning, AM Radio, Tinted Glass and Deluxe Belts/Warning Light.

The Mach 1 was restored in early the 2000s in the USA and imported to Australia in 2005 and has been registered in Queensland, Victoria and currently in NSW.  Mechanically the Mach 1 runs a period correct  351ci Cleveland that has been rebuilt with mild cam, 750cfm Holley performance double pumper carby, Edlebrock manifold and electronic ignition.

The interior has been re-trimmed in the original White Vinyl Corinthian Knit high backed coverings with new door cards. The dash, gauges clock and shifter are all original with an aftermarket sports steering wheel fitted. The Mach 1 is also fitted with new carpet and hood lining and the car comes with an aftermarket console with cup holders.

The boot has a boot carpet, steel rim spare, jack and tools and the Mach 1 is riding on original style 15" Mustang Magnum 500 Sports wheels shod with near new 235/60R15s all round.
