For sale from Cromer, NSW is a 1971 HQ Holden Monaro GTS Replica running a 308 V8 and Trimatic auto.

In the same family since 1988, this HQ Monaro was originally built with a 6 cylinder engine in Glacier White with Antique Saddle trim. Converted to a V8 prior to the family's ownership, the Monaro was used as family trasnport until 2001 when the car was acquired by the son who still retains the car.

The Monaro has remained a reliable driver. Always garaged and serviced twice yearly its whole life. The HQ was kept registered up until 2013 when it was parked in the garage. Mortgages, kids etc. and 12 years later we got it back on the road but due to lack of use the owner has decided the time has come to sell the Monaro.

The Monaro was closed door resprayed in 2013 in Passion Red Mica and features a Statesman front clip and Black Recaro seats. The HQ also features Statesman mirrors, power steering, disc brakes and a reconditioned Trimatic auto gearbox. The engine was reconditioned in 2004 by Mike Dyer In Brookvale and runs a 600 Holley Carby, Lukey extractors and has covered 29,087 Klms since the rebuild. Current maintenance work has been carried out by Tilleys Performance in Cromer and a new copper core radiator + hoses, new fuel & brake lines, a reconditioned carby, new steering coupling and new tyres have been recently fitted.

There are still some minor mechanical and body repairs that will be required in the future but the HQ can be driven and enjoyed as is. The A/C compressor is included with the sale but not installed in the Monaro.  A full report on these items can be provided if required.

The Monaro is riding on replica Chrome Strikers by Appliance Wheels (USA), 7” on the front 8” on the back with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A 14’s all around.

The HQ comes with some old rego papers from 1998 and 2008 plus the most recent one. Also the original list of all the work completed by the original owner, the vehicle inspection report and transfer certificate. Plus a couple of photos taken shortly after buying the Monaro in 1988. There is also a receipt folder covering the major repairs and some of its services.
