1996 BMW E36 M3 EVO Individual - Santorini Blue
The E36 M3 BMW is well known as a high-performance version of the standard BMW, featuring powerful engines, track-tuned chassis and aggressive styling. The BMW Individual added to the M3 story by offering well heeled customers a means to further enhance their M3 with exclusive paints, bespoke leather/trim and special details like darkened lights or carbon fiber.
BMW only produced 11,793 M3 Evos globally and all were manual. Only a very small percentage of these M3 Evos were specially ordered as Individuals. For sale is one such example. Ordered in Santorini Blue with stunning full blue leather interior trim, this M3 was originally delivered from BMW in Southport Queensland and is a genuine low mileage example with a solid BMW service history.
Presented in all original and immaculate factory paint with an exceptionally clean full leather interior, this M3 Evo is a highly sought-after icon of German engineering. BMW upped the ante with the Evo M3 raising compression and strengthening the dual-mass flywheel to cope with the additional horsepower of the 3.2 Litre S50 in line six. Internals include double Vanos variable valve timing, graphite-coated con-rods, larger intake valves and a freer-breathing exhaust, among many other small upgrades that amounted to a big change.
Along with its excellent performance, (5.5 seconds 0-100KM/H), the E36 M3 was also praised for its handling, thanks to its well-tuned suspension and near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The M3 has driver’s and passenger airbags, ABS brakes, air conditioning, remote central locking and integrated security system plus 17" alloy wheels, power steering, power door mirrors, limited slip diff (LSD), a full body kit, power windows and a premium sound system with 10 speakers.
This rare M3 is riding on 17-inch M double-spoke forged ‘Style 24’ wheels wrapped with Yokohama 225/45R17 front and 245/40R17s on the rear. The M3 is supplied with a full set of day one owners manuals, log books, two sets of keys, radio code, spare wheel, full tool kit and a recent service receipt.
This is certainly a rare offering. A M3 Individual in a stunning rare colour combination, with a documented history and low mileage making this a tremendous opportunity for the BMW collector.
