For sale from our Sydney Showroom.

Due to the demise of BMC in Australia, a new Mini had not been available in Australia since 1978. They were however, still manufactured in the UK for the European and Japanese markets. A Wyong, NSW based company called Australian Mini Cooper saw the opportunity to import these Minis to Australia. The company gained Australian compliance for these Rover Minis in 1997 and since then have proudly completed hundreds of cars enabling owners to experience the thrill of driving this exceptional motor car.

Imported from Japan, Australian Mini Cooper complied the 1996 to 2000 Rover Mini through the Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme (SEVS) on behalf of the Dept of Infrastructure in Canberra. Recently the rules have changed and no more cars will be complied. So this is your chance to get behind the wheel of a fully complied and superbly equipped Mini.

FOR SALE is a 1998 Rover Mini supplied with the original Japanese owners manuals and service books that was imported under the SEVS program and complied by Australian Mini Cooper in Wyong, NSW in August 2022. This means that this Mini complies with Australian ADR requirements to include Side Intrusion Bars in the doors (ADR29), Child Restraints, Airbags and pretensioned front seatbelts, high mount stop light, plus brake fail and handbrake warning lights making the car legally registrable anywhere in Australia.

These last Minis are about the most fun you can have on four wheels. Lightweight and compact with responsive rack and pinion steering, they offer great handling and maneuverability. A torquey 1275cc fuel-injected in-line four cylinder engine emits a satisfying bark and provides great performance thanks to the Mini’s 715kg weight. A four-speed manual gearbox enhances responsiveness. It’s not as fast as a Porsche, but the Mini is more worthy of the sports car label than most of today’s luxury-laden expresses.

This stunning Almond Green Mini was repainted in 2 pack paint in Japan with the original leather trim still in place. The bullet mirrors and bumper over riders have been added in Japan.

Mechanically the car has been maintained and a new stainless exhaust fitted recently.

Riding on original 12" Minilite alloy wheels with near new tyres.

Very particular with the cars that were imported, Australian Mini Cooper only sourced the highest quality Minis guaranteeing your driving satisfaction.

Iconic worldwide and fantastic to drive. A perfect formula for your driving pleasure.

Full NSW registration until 25th September, 2024.

For your private inspection from our Sydney Showroom. (Ref: 6408)

And if you like we will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
