2000 Subaru Impreza WRX Clubspec EVO 4 - Blaze Yellow
For sale is a super rare Blaze Yellow 2000 WRX optioned with the limited edition "Club Spec Evo 4" package. One of only 300 delivered to Australia - 250 sedans and 50 hatches! For your inspection from our Sydney Showroom.
The WRX's styling has always been a boy racer's wet dream. From the giant fog lamps set in the bumper, to the bonnet scoop directing cold air to the top-mounted intercooler, to the "no wing is too big" rear spoiler. Certainly an iconic Subaru and with the Club Spec Evo 4 Package a pocket rocket on steroids.
The two-litre turbocharged 4 cylinder turbo intercooled boxer engine, with double overhead cam and multi-point fuel injection delivers 160kW of power at 5,600 RPM and 290Nm of torque in a vehicle weighing in at just 1,270 kg. Turn it over and it comes to life with the signature off-beat rumble that is characteristic of Subaru's header design. Needless to say that it's easy to pick a Rex from the crowd on engine note alone.
Slot the short-throw gearstick into first, release the clutch pedal and floor the throttle. Listen to the Boxer work its magic up to the 7000rpm redline. Then snatch second. There is a lot of old-school turbo lag in the WRX but it makes up for it with a solid wall of turbocharged power in the mid-range. Take it to third and the "turbo rush" quickly becomes intoxicating.
The Evo 4 Club Spec keeps it all under control with the excellent Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive which does a great job of shifting power to the right wheels. The Rex also comes with ABS, and the brakes (four-piston calipers with 294mm discs) are awesome at hauling it up.
The Evo 4 is impressive on the inside as well with those unique WRX Alcantara buckets with yellow inserts, bright white gauges and the standard CD player. There is also a lovely Momo leather-wrapped steering wheel to hold on to on your way to warp speed.
Originally sold by David Nutter Subaru located in Berwick, Victoria, the Evo 4 has an impressive service history and comes with the log books, service history with receipts, the Subaru Owners Wallet and two sets of keys. In very good condition throughout, this Evo 4 features the original factory Blaze Yellow paint and unique black and Yellow trim. The interior is all original with the exception of an aftermarket Alpine blue tooth stereo. The Evo 4 is showing 180,983 Kilometres.
Modifications are limited to the fitment of a sports exhaust system and an upgraded air intake with original parts supplied. Otherwise, this Evo 4 is an excellent stock example of one of Subarus most recognisable and entertaining models.
The Evo 4 is stopped via the factory brakes and the car is riding on Kumho 205/50ZR16 all round.
If you've looked at a lot of thrashed examples, you'll be delighted to inspect this Evo 4 which is a near impossible to find unmolested gem.
