2019 Ford Mustang - DJR Limited Edition - Build No. 17/30 6sp Manual
Now for sale is Build No. 17 of 30 Dick Johnson Limited Edition Ford Mustang by Herrod Performance. A rare 6 speed MANUAL in brand new condition with only 0170 km on the clock from new. Located at Dick Johnson Racing Headquarters, Gold Coast, QLD for your inspection.
This is the hottest limited edition Mustang ever produced in Australia. The Dick Johnson Mustang is the culmination of over a decade of planning by the Aussie racing legend who in collaboration with Herrod Performance pushed the go button early in 2019 to build the DJR Limited Edition Mustang. Build No. 17 proudly wears Dick Johnson's famous race number taking the No. 17 car to win 3 Bathurst 1000s and five Australian Touring Car Championships.
One of only 30 DJR Mustangs hand built by Herrod Motorsport, these very special Mustangs show 635kW (851hp) on the engine dyno and 541kW @ 7000rpm at the rear wheels.
Produced in either black or white, with 22 autos and only 8 manuals, Build No. 17 is one rare beast.
Herrod Motorsport used hundreds of special components to convert the GT Mustangs, including a high-capacity customised 3L Whipple supercharger and carbon-fibre tail-shaft down to the ‘puddle’ lamp under the doors which is switched from a picture of a pony to the Dick Johnson logo.
Many parts are also monogrammed with the car’s individual build and VIN numbers engraved into the metal, including the pistons and conrods.
On each cylinder head is an etching of Dick Johnson’s logo, the build number and VIN. The conrods also have the logo on the side, while slightly more visible in the engine bay is the graphic engraved into the top of the supercharger.
Its sump, oil pump, billet crank, oil cooler, and inter-cooler are also custom, and most of these parts feature the VIN and build number too. Even the service stickers in the engine bay, including a special one for the oil cap, are tailored items.
The cars have a range of visual and performance upgrades to the bodywork, from front ’flicks’ to the carbon-fibre rear wing, with a full-custom leather interior, and optional half roll cage which has been fitted to Build No. 17.
The DJR Mustang rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with 275/35 front and 305/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres with special Brembo brakes from the Mustang GT350R with 15.5-inch cross-drilled front rotors and 14.9-inch cross-drilled rear rotors.
There is no other Mustang like it and with only 30 ever built and with the Build No. 17 offered with delivery mileage only, this is one seriously special and highly collectable Mustang.
