Starting life as a 1970 LC Torana, the car has been built as a LJ GTR XU-1 tribute and has been a race car for the last 18 years. With all period correct specs for a LJ GTR XU-1, the Torana has full Group N CAMS approval, a MSA log book and an extensive race history.
Mechanically, the Torana runs a 3,300cc, 202 cui 6 cylinder race motor dynoed at 240 HP at the rear wheels. Internals include race pistons, rods, ported head, Pacemaker extractors, a race manifold and cam and Triple 2" SU carbies. Professionally built by a well known race engine builder with a performance race exhaust, race level aluminium radiator, electric thermo fan, fresh LJ Bathurst spec M21 gearbox and oil cooler. The rear end is custom built with a reconditioned factory tailshaft, Bosnjak Engineering fine spline rear axles, married to a mini spool diff. 104 octane fuel is delivered through fully braided, Teflon fuel lines linked to a high end fuel pump and filter.
Suspension is race tuned with race spec springs, roll bars and strengthened front suspension arms. Braking is via BMW rotors, Volvo 4 spot calipers and $450 each Hawk race brake pads. Brakes are cooled via front brake ducts.
On the inside, the driver is protected by a CAMS approved Brown Davis fully welded roll cage with camera mount. Seats are FIA approved Sparco race seats with RPM Racegear seat belts, Autometer gauges, aluminium checker plate flooring, Sparco race pedals, a Momo steering wheel and the glove box has been signed by Bathurst legends Harry Firth AOM and Colin Bond, both Bathurst winning drivers. All the original interior door cards, roof lining and dash are in place and all lights and indicators are working.
The Torana has a 5 year old paint job in Picardy Red with nil damage but minor rust in the front RHS dog leg, front valance near the LHS indicator and rear LHS quarter as shown in the photos. Otherwise the car is in very good race ready condition.
The Torana is riding on period correct 7" Cheviot Hotwires with semi slick Proxy 888 road legal tyres. In the boot is the factory 25 litre fuel tank, fuel pump and battery box. The Torana can be supplied with additional rims with semi slicks and wets if required.
The current owner of 13 years has meticulously maintained the Torana with an engine rebuild 5 years ago with 3 to 4 race meetings per year with regular services every 6 months. The Torana is supplied with three binders full of receipts for work carried out over the years including the original build receipts and specs.
The Torana can be road registered on modified historic plates if required and the 84 Race Numbers and stripes are decals only and can be removed easily. This Group Nc is race ready and CAMS Authorised and can be fielded immediately with no works required. The Torana coud also be restored back to factory spec as well.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
