Super rare log booked 1971 XY Falcon 500 in Track Red with factory Saddle trim running the all matching numbers K code 351 2V Cleveland, 4 speed top loader gearbox, 9" diff and factory dual exhaust combo. For sale from Brisbane, QLD.

In order to achieve lower insurance premiums, many new car buyers in the 1970s opted for a heavily optioned Falcon or Fairmont to avoid the much higher insurance premiums for a GT or GTHO. The original owner of this Falcon 500 opted for the GT running gear but without the GT name. The option box was ticked for the 351 Cleveland V8, 4 speed Top Loader gearbox and 9" LSD. Sports console, carpets, bucket seats and the dual exhaust system were also selected. As the Falcon was one of the last XYs built in December 1971, it seems some of the now no longer required HO parts ended up with this car. Like a close ratio 31 spline Bull Nose Top Loader gearbox. So yes, this really is a GT in sheep's clothing.

One of 669 K code Falcon 500s built and one of only 490 with the 4 speed manual transmission, this Falcon features a beautiful rust and damage free dead straight body. With only an external repaint from the factory Ultra White in acrylic in the 1980s, the XY presents in excellent condition. The interior is in exceptional condition with original door cards, arm rests, carpets, crash pad, front and rear seats. The original GS dash with full instrumentation, 8,000 tacho, 140 MPH speedo and rim blow GS steering wheel are all in their place.

Mechanically the Falcon retains the matching numbers 351 2V Cleveland which is fairly stock with a mild cam, Edlebrock manifold, 600CFM Holley and extractors. The car runs and drives beautifully.

A three owner car, the Falcon started life in Bundaberg, QLD and is supplied complete with the original log books, owners manual, the new car brochure, original keys and the original QLD number plates.

This is a rare and desirable XY GS Falcon featuring the sought after combo of 351 V8 Cleveland and 4 speed manual gearbox.

The perfect base to restore to its former glory or create the ultimate GT or GTHO Falcon Tribute from this factory dual exhaust Falcon.
