Now for sale from our Sydney Showroom this 1980 HDT VC Brock Commodore Build No 367 in Tuxedo Black.

The VC HDT Commodore is cherished by many, including Peter Brock, who deemed it his favourite. More than a modified family car, it was transformed by the Holden Dealer Team into a luxury vehicle rivaling European brands.

Brock significantly enhanced the 308 V8 engine, improving air intake and adding a four-barrel Rochester carburettor and a larger air cleaner from Chevrolet. This resulted in a 40kW power increase and a 20% boost in fuel efficiency, allowing for a 15.5-second 400m run and a top speed of around 215 km/h, making it the fastest Aussie road car at the time. Buyers could choose between an M21 four-speed manual or a TH350 automatic, with 281 of the 500 produced featuring the automatic and 219 in manual.

The chassis was significantly upgraded with Bilstein shocks, reinforced springs, and sway bars, earning Brock praise from Wheels magazine for his "extraordinary" suspension engineering. The braking system was also enhanced with ventilated front discs and a larger master cylinder.

Inside, the vehicle featured the full Holden luxury package, including power windows, air conditioning, central locking, and Carmine Red velour upholstery. The body kit and graphics were created by the renowned Leo Pruneau, known for his designs on iconic Holdens like the HQ SS and various Commodores and Toranas.

For sale is a rare Tuxedo Black VC HDT Commodore, one of just 69 Black cars produced from the total of 500 and fewer than 30 featuring a manual transmission. Build number 367 boasts an all-original, matching numbers Brock-enhanced 5.0-liter L31 V8 engine paired with an M21 four-speed gearbox.

The vehicle has an impressive ownership record, having remained within the same family from its production in 1980 until approximately 2014. Primarily utilized as a daily driver throughout most of its existence, this Brock was originally purchased from Brian Kelly Holden located in Cardiff, NSW. It had a verified mileage of just 141,889 km up to 2014 and comes with all original log books, registration papers, receipts, and owner’s manuals. The second owner contributed only 5,000 km to its total mileage between 2014 and 2019 before it changed ownership, who carried out both cosmetic and mechanical improvements from May 2019 until December 2020 when the current owner took possession. It now displays a genuine mileage of 144,352 km.

Build No 367 received a lot of attention with a fresh coat of paint and a thorough cleaning of the engine bay. The engine, gearbox, and carburetor were all taken out and given a complete overhaul. The engine bay and engine block were also repainted to give it fresh presentation. The rest of the car still has its original paint in the door jambs, boot area, and undercarriage.

The car still has its original air cleaner with a cold air induction system that pulls air from behind the passenger side headlight. It also has its chrome air cleaner lid and rocker covers, along with gas flowed cylinder heads and a port-matched inlet manifold.

Inside, the interior has been fully restored with new trim, door cards, carpets, and roof lining. Bilstein shock absorbers have been added to improve the car's handling. All of the compliance plates, including the chassis number on the radiator support, are still intact.

The car is sitting on its original 5 Irmscher wheels that have been restored and fitted with Pirelli P6 tires, 205/65 R15 both front and rear.

Although Currently Unregistered, the NSW number plates HDT 367 come with the car. Located in our Sydney Showroom for your inspection. (Ref: 6514)
