For sale is a genuine HSV's SV88 build No. 89 with a surprise under the bonnet. Running a worked HSV Walkinshaw engine dynoed at 310hp at the rear wheels, for or sale from our Sydney Showroom.

The SV88 was HSV's first production car and was based on Holden's VL Calais. Targeting executive customers looking for luxury combined with Holden's 4.9 Litre V8, only 150 SV88s were built. The SV88 package included beautiful perforated leather seats, door trim and dash leather coverings, air-conditioning, power steering, power windows, cruise control and for an additional cost of $3,500 each, a mobile phone and a fax machine.  Perfect for the executive on the move.

This exceptional example of the SV88 is not for the feint hearted. The idea for this build was to create a street sleeper. An executive machine with the right amount of get up and go. So the original running gear was carefully removed and preserved and a tough HSV Walkinshaw motor with Torque Power dual plane manifold, Holley Performance carby, HPC coated extractors, MSD ignition was built and dynoed at 310 rwhp. A manualised Trimatic has been fitted and the standard VL diff rebuilt. All of the compliance plates are in their place including the HSV build tag and the original engine, gearbox, brakes and wheels are included in the sale.

On the outside Build No. 89 was repainted in the factory two tone Dorward Blue over Jewel Midnight paintwork. The finish on this SV88 is to show standards and she shines. The SV88 body kit is retained as are the functional Calais semi-concealed headlights with pop-up eyelids, SV88 special grille, SV88 badging and colour coded boot lip spoiler.

The interior is totally original and features HSV sports perforated leather and velour in two tone light blue. Factory creature comforts include power steering, power windows and mirrors, cruise control and air conditioning. The A/C is ice cold and of course the colour coded Momo steering wheel is fitted to the SV88.

As part of the build,  colour matched 18" Simmons were fitted and are shod in 225/40ZR18 on the front and 245/40ZR18s on the rear. The correct factory colour matched 16-inch five-spoke Group A wheels with HSV centre caps are included with the sale. Braking has also been enhanced with Brembo calipers on the front and VN Group A calipers on the rear.

The SV88 is the first production car from HSV, the only car they built with a carby, the car that along with the homologation special VL SS Group A Walkinshaw, kicked off 30 years of HSV production in Australia.

If you want a rare and historically significant car in your garage, you should definitely come and check this one out for yourself.
