In the early 60’s Carroll Shelby bolted a V-8 into a little British car and created a legend. The idea was not new. To take a lightweight car, in Shelby's case a British AC Ace sports car, ditch the straight six cylinder engine and shoe horn a big V8 under the bonnet. With Ford's involvement, Shelby fitted the early AC Cobras with Ford's 260 ci Windsor V8, then the race track preferred 289ci V8 and eventually the monstrous 485 BHP 427ci side oiler V8. In doing so, Shelby created a race car that could take it to the best on the race tracks around the world and along the way created a cult following that has seen many replica Cobras built to celebrate this legendary American Muscle car.

Built in 2006, this fully engineered DRB Cobra Replica has been painted in 2 pack Ford Blood Orange with Pearl White stripes and Chrome accents. Lift the bonnet and motive power comes from a FPV GT Boss 5.4L V8 engine good for 350 rwhp. The FPV GT Boss engine is fitted with a custom polished aluminium inlet manifold, a relocated throttle body, a K&N Filter and a thermo fan. All the computers sourced from the FPV GT are fitted under the dash. And the Cobra also benefits from the modern FPV safety equipment including ABS, cruise control and traction control.

To transfer the power to the wheels, a Borg Warner five speed sequential automatic gearbox with custom made driveshaft is fitted. This is coupled to a Jaguar LSD 3.1:1 ratio rear end. Exhaust exits through a 4 into 2 15/8" header system to a 2" and then 2.5" dual mild steel ceramic coated exhaust system. The Cobra is also fitted with balance pipes, an expansion box and a stainless steel cat. The hand made stainless side pipes are for show only and are non operational.

Underpinning the Cobra is a Jaguar XJ6 front end, King Spring coils, front and rear, AVO adjustable height and dampening shocks, Jaguar independent rear suspension and custom Billet steering arms. Braking is courtesy of massive 285x25 front and 285x20 rear discs paired with four spot front and two spot rear calipers, Bendix competition pads and a Ford GT Boss ABS system.

On the inside, the Cobra is decked out in stunning custom cream leather fitted to DRB Sports seats. A Billet steering wheel, Autometer gauges, Monza race harnesses, twin roll over bars, Mercedes Benz carpets with custom Cobra embroidery and a JVC DVD/CD radio system complete the picture. An Autotecnica flat bottom steering wheel is also included in the sale.

The Cobra is riding on ROH Monaco 3 piece alloys 81/2"x17" on the front and 12"x17" on the rear with Pirelli P-Zero 245x45s on the front and monster 335x35 P-Zeros at the rear. The Cobra is fitted with a tonneau cover, soft top with side curtains and has won multiple trophies including at the Cobra Nationals. The Cobra has also been a feature car in Street Fords Magazine issue #30.

Fully engineered, Queensland mod platted and supplied with the engineering paperwork, this Cobra has been built to comply with all regulations and can be registered in all states.
